With two of them, it was my first time to meet them since they were born. They're gorgeous, and their personalities are so delightful -- hams who never knew a stranger. I'm looking forward to knowing them more.
With another, it had been five or more years since I'd seen her. She's rather articulate, a reader, a singer, and a fast-learner -- she had just been taught a crochet stitch minutes before, and she discovered a couple of other stitches on her own. I envy her spatial skills.
It's fascinating to watch kids as they grow up now with more technology than we ever had. (My manual typewriter was a source of pride and giddiness. My electric typewriter saved my first couple years of college. My cousin's Commodore 64 was a source of envy, and my first computer was a Tandy -- haha -- with extremely pixelated games including Dr. J basketball and The Black Cauldron adventure. I remember the Beta vs. VHS debate and the first cordless phones.) Now these babies play with Sidekicks, and far more efficiently than I am capable of doing.
With another, he's just been born, so of course I'm head-over-heels in love.

Kids are Cool
I've enjoyed spending time recently with the children of friends from way back.
