They never look the same...

...on the computer as they did in the camera. Tonight the cloud-covered moon proved to be my match, despite more than twenty attempts.


See? Grr. I'm learning.

These were also interesting, though I find they look more like daytime. Stupid city lights. Oh, well. I had fun out there shooting, anyway, and that's half the point.

It's all about the attempt. Fun moon shots. I'm always amazed at how small it looks in pictures, and how big it looks in reality.

the cloudy, dark skies and the bright moon are quite good, atmospheric even.

I like them. I don't think I've ever gotten more than one moon photo that I liked. Are you using a tripod? If not, try that and see if it helps.

i do like the atmospherics, and the clouds moving over the moon was very dynamic and utterly mesmerizing. but i was frustrated by the fact that i couldn't get a shot that was both properly in focus *and* exposed decently. it was one or the other. i was totally using a tripod -- most of these are 30- to 45-second-long exposures. i still have a lot to learn about shooting digital. but i'm having fun learning it.
