I look at this as I read my assignments each morning. The hummingbirds, fat bees, bunnies, squirrels, and even a woodpecker this week populate the air physically and aurally. I take a lot of stare-breaks from my reading.

I used Erasmus's copiousness piece with both of my summer school classes for a fun last day. Thanks for introducing me to this!
all that is needed is a disney princess trilling a song!
what now -- isn't that a fun activity? and totally useful in terms of playing with language and understanding how language changes shades of meaning! i love it! i'm going to do it with my own students this next year, along with some of the exercises from aphthonius's progymnysmata and (psuedo-)quintilian's declamation popularly known as 'bloody hand prints on the wall' -- they'll love it!
