'Round the House

Depth, not breadth. It's the same approach I prefer to take my teaching. Do fewer things, and do them deeply and well. Really saturate, delve, get to know something thoroughly.

I've been having fun this year taking pictures around the house. I am reminded of how many things change on an hourly, daily, weekly, monthly basis, and how many different angles and perspectives one can use to look at the same thing and re-see it. Nothing is ever really exactly the same.

Of course, some of you, at this very moment, are thinking, The hell they're not the same! If I have see another picture of her damned dog...! Well, sorry to disappoint, but the wildflowers are still beautiful and the dog is still precious, and these are my two offerings for the day (and a make-up for yesterday).

I agree completely about the project offering an opportunity to pay more careful attention to the too-often overlooked everyday details of home. But then, I'm also thinking "Oh, geez, if there are a bunch of people in our circle who are tired of seeing pictures of CG's dog, they must be sick to death of seeing more pictures of me."

haha! sick of seeing YOU, scriv? never! it's different every time -- the hair, the beard in its various stages, the costumes and getups, the poses and jumps, the lighting, the varying focal lengths and depths of field. it's NEVER boring or the same. your creativity amuses and astounds.

okay, one, I am up to my veritable EYEBALLs in snow, so the wildflowers are like a balm to them and two, I clicked on your blog thinking, oooooh I hope there is a picture of that sweet doggy too.
So I am happy.

as an asided to the scriv - I love waiting to see what the next picture will be!

That depth versus breadth balance is something I need to work on more in my teaching next year. This year I feel like I kept veering between one and the other and never hit that sweet spot.

I never get tired of seeing flowers or dogs. Especially when they are beautiful shots.

So very true and one of the best things about this project.

I do so love seeing your little corner of the world...and getting to know you a bit in the process.

(I am a little sick of seeing scriv, tho.....j/k of course. who could get sick of that face and that creativity?)
